What's up everyone? It's been awhile since I've written anything but there is good reason! (I haven't just been fishing all summer).
I've been holed up a study-cave for the last six months preparing to become a Certified Personal Trainer with NASM. I sat for the exam yesterday and passed. Nailed it!
I think that finishes up any extra training I was trying to achieve this year. At least my wife is telling me "No more classes!", haha. But I do love to learn, and usually do an amazing job at overcommitting myself. Between massage therapy and health coaching, I have a pretty full plate but I am always guilty of trying to find something else to dig into... like becoming a personal trainer!
I am really excited to start working as a CPT. I am hoping to work part-time at our local community gym as a trainer to gain some experience. I have always loved fitness and exercise in all forms and I believe in the power of staying active. For my health coaching practice, becoming a certified personal trainer just adds to my toolbox to be able to help others live healthier lives. Working solely as a health coach, it's outside scope of practice to create and deliver exercise programs and recommendations to clients.
However, as a certified personal trainer AND a health coach, I am able to create and deliver a much more comprehensive offering to my clients.
Body movement and fitness have aways been core to what I love to do. I love spending time outside and a lot of my exercise comes from outdoor pursuits. But beyond that, the mental and spiritual benefit I get from exercise and keepin' my body moving is incredible.
I love that I get to share this with my clients now.
NASM Certified Personal Trainer … that has a nice ring to it!
Take care friends!
